DETROIT — Last week, the first 25 participants in the “IT in the D” pilot program officially graduated, after spending two and a half months gaining real-world IT experience and receiving instruction from volunteer IT professionals at participating companies.
Founded by a conglomerate of GalaxE.Solutions, Compuware Ventures, Quicken Loans, Fathead and Marketing Associates, IT in the D is focused on creating and luring the next wave of IT professionals to Detroit.
“With their foundational training completed, the sky is the limit for what these graduates may accomplish next,” said Ryan Hoyle of GalaxE.Solutions. “Many are in the process of weighing job offers while others will be continuing their education and training in the field. All have an eye toward being a tangible part of Detroit’s growing IT hub downtown.”
Hoyle joined Paul Czarnik of Compuware, Linglong He of Quicken Loans, Andy Frey of Marketing Associates, James Robinson of WCCCD, Robert Kakos of WSU and Brandon Tucker of WCC at the ceremony. Students presented their group projects during the ceremony.
